City of Fairfax, VA — Steve S. Chang announces his campaign for City of Fairfax Council Member, offering residents a vision centered on a simple goal – that Fairfax continues to be a welcoming, prosperous, and fiscally accountable city for both present and future generations. To accomplish that goal, the needs of City residents will always come first, ahead of partisan agendas and special interests.

A longtime Fairfax resident, Chang and his wife moved their family to the City almost a decade ago. A founding pastor, business leader, and community advocate, Chang said he is running to ensure that Fairfax remains one of Northern Virginia’s most desirable communities while thoughtfully preparing for future challenges.

“Fairfax is a remarkable city because of the people who call it home,” said Chang. “Our residents deserve leadership that listens, plans responsibly, and makes decisions based on facts rather than politics. I am running to bring practical, collaborative leadership that protects our neighborhoods, strengthens our local economy, and preserves the quality of life that makes Fairfax such a special place.”

Chang’s campaign will focus on several key priorities:

• COMMUNITY-DRIVEN LEADERSHIP: Listen to residents, encourage public participation, and make decisions based on what is best for Fairfax—not special interests.
  
• FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY & EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT: Protect taxpayers by promoting transparent budgeting, reducing waste, and ensuring city resources are used wisely.
  
• SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS & ECONOMIC GROWTH: Help small businesses thrive, attract investment, and create opportunities that strengthen our local economy.
  
• PROTECT OUR QUALITY OF LIFE: Preserve the unique character of Fairfax while making thoughtful decisions about growth, development, and community planning.
  
• FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY & EFFECTIVE GOVERNMENT: Protect taxpayers by promoting transparent budgeting, reducing waste, and ensuring city resources are used wisely.

Throughout his campaign, Chang plans to meet with residents in every neighborhood, listen to their concerns, and develop practical solutions that reflect the community’s priorities.
